📸 SeatShots

Privacy Policy — Effective July 12, 2026

SeatShots ("the app," "we," "us") lets people mark seats they've sat in at sports venues, concerts, and NASCAR tracks, optionally with a photo and a note. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and what choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account. SeatShots creates an anonymous account for you automatically the first time you open the app, using Firebase Authentication. You don't create a username or password, and we don't collect your email address or phone number to use the app.

Content you add. When you sign a seat, we store the name you type in (this can be your real name, a nickname, or anything you choose), any note you write, the section/row/seat, the date, your favorite team if you add one, and any photos you attach. This is stored in our database (Google Firebase/Firestore) and photo storage (Firebase Storage), tied to your anonymous account ID.

Photos. If you take or choose a photo to attach to a signed seat, the app needs access to your camera and/or photo library to do that. We only access photos you specifically choose to add — the app does not browse your photo library on its own. Photos may carry metadata (like the date, or location if your phone is set to tag photos with location); we don't strip this automatically, so consider your phone's camera settings if that matters to you.

Device-only information. Some information — your profile display name, favorite team, recently searched venues, and notification preferences — is stored only on your device, not sent to our servers.

Notifications. If you enable notifications, the app schedules local reminders (like an upcoming game or event at a venue you've visited) directly on your device. This doesn't involve sending your personal data to a push notification server.

Information We Don't Collect

We don't collect your precise GPS location, and we don't require your real name, email, or phone number. We don't use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't sell your information to anyone.

Third-Party Services We Use

To show live scores, standings, and event info, the app makes requests to a few outside services. These requests only include things like a team name, stadium, or date — never your personal information:

Other People Can See What You Post

Signed seats (name, note, photos) are visible to other people using the app at that venue — this is a shared guestbook, not a private journal. Don't include anything in your name or note that you wouldn't want other visitors to see.

Your Choices

You can remove any seat signature you've posted at any time from within the app. You can report other users' content that seems inappropriate, which hides it from view while it's reviewed. If you'd like your data fully deleted from our systems, contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

SeatShots is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

We rely on Firebase's built-in security practices (encryption in transit and at rest) to protect stored data. No system is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
